Émile, or more affectionately known by close friends as ‘Miles,’ was extremely irritated. Extremely. Not only had he received a howler from his mother, but he had also encountered his sister. Now, the howler wasn’t so bad… Émile knew it could be a lot worse considering how vicious his mother could be at times. She had a temper, and lately Miles had been pretty good about staying away from her switch point. This time though, it was something about Lisette that made her angry. Gabrielle had a soft spot for her daughter, something that Émile himself couldn’t understand. Blaise on the other hand was very stern, looking out for his daughter in the most strict of ways. To put it in perspective, Blaise would yell at or scold Lisette for being the floozy that she was, and as soon as Blaise was finished, Lisette would go crying to Gabrielle who would scold Blaise. It was a never-ending circle of scolding, and Émile thought it was all quite juvenile… most of the reason that he tried to stay out of it. Well, that, and Lisette annoyed the hell out of him.
Before Lisette entered Hogwarts, the two of them had been quite close. They were best friends, and Émile had even admitted to missing her during his first encounter with Hogwarts. After she’d had cancer and Émile wondered if she was even going to live to see Hogwarts. He felt bad for her… But after that, after she was cured, things changed. It was as if Lisette had had her slice of life… and was eating it, too. And eating it right in front of him. She got everything she wanted, and things especially changed when Lisette started at Hogwarts and became best friends with Albus Potter and Scorpius Malfoy. Émile was planning to be the awesome protective older brother… take care of her and keep her out of trouble. From a distance of course, he didn’t want his friends thinking that he was supposed to be taking care of her like a babysitter. He had a weakness for her, but today… not so much.
That was why he was so tight now with little miss Malfoy. Scorpius’ sister… Which really irked Lisette. For some reason, Tahlia really despised Lisette’s guts, and much to his and Tahlia’s amusement, Lisette had no idea why. They hadn’t really talked over the summer, but now that school was back in session… It was a new fresh start to their attack on his sister. He hadn’t seen her yet, unfortunately… Émile enjoyed that saucy look on Lisette’s face when she saw them together…

Enjoying the time she had spent of the summer with her brother in the mansion as well as traveling with her father and mother. Tahlia had spent a lot of time drooling of Scorpius and writing Albus as much as she could but found it difficult to write her best friend Li. She didn't like the norm of calling him 'Miles' because she enjoyed giving her friends personal nicknames that only she was allowed to call them. Sighing softly she walked through the halls of Hogwarts wondering where her good friend was. Her mind quickly flashed to the past when she first met Li. Grinning she recalled how they had found a shared interest in hating his sister Lisette. This blossomed into a relationship/friendship.
Stopping she stood there and looked down at her hands and grinned. Tahlia always loved being friends with him because them being together always irked Lisette which made it so much fun. As she continued to walk she grinned and walked tall and proud with happiness filling her every being. It was quite enjoyable. Lisette tormented Tahlia with keeping Scorpius and Albus away from her but Tahlia and Emilie's friendship tormented Lisette which the two found quite enjoyable. Looking around the hall she took in a breath and smiled. The scent of a newly reopened Hogwarts. A new year and new plans of destruction.
Always enjoying the first few days of Hogwarts school year Tahlia sighed out of comfort. Being greeted by the smells and sounds of Hogwarts Tahlia closed her eyes as she walked. The enjoyment of being in Hogwarts made her so happy because she could be close to her brother and drool over him without the watchful eyes of their parents. Tahlia had a lot riding on this year. With her best friend Li graduating this year she was losing her confidant and the person that helped her irk his sister. Walking into the Great Hall she stopped and grinned seeing bestest friend. "Oh my dear Li! How was your summer?! Enjoy making Lisette's life a living hell?!"she said rushing to his side to see her dear friend and to hug and kiss his cheek.

Émile ran a hand through his quite short black hair. He hated how everyone associated him with his sister... of course, it was difficult not to just going by their similar looks that they received from their mother's side, being part veela and everything. Of course, being a veela didn't affect the males... Émile didn't have such an effect on women as Lisette seemed to on the guys. But... having a part veela mother did have its perks when it came to his looks though. He was deemed rather attractive by many girls in his age group and lower... not to mention he had a very high metabolism and the ability to keep and gain muscle. Émile didn't brag, though. He knew what everyone thought about him, and he just kept a tight smirk and sat back.
This could partially be the reason that he enjoyed Tahlia Malfoy so much. Not only was she quite beautiful herself, having a mother of high as standing as his own. Not part veela, but Émile didn't think that Tahlia needed it as much as Lisette. Lisette... was an airhead. She needed the ability to daze males with her looks to distract them from her stupidity. Émile scoffed at the thought... having being related to her. He absolutely hated that. But you couldn't go around school without being associated with her. Especially when you're seen together. Today, in fact, she was trying to convince Miles to take Adriane Koller out on a date. As attractive as the girl was, she wasn't Émile's taste. Of course he had his eye on her, Émile had his eye on every girl. She was bent on pleasing that one nerdy Ravenclaw kid, and Émile didn't want to mess with that. She was ungodly smart.
"Oh my dear Li! How was your summer?! Enjoy making Lisette's life a living hell?!"
That voice... Émile knew that voice. He turned around with a smirk on his lips just as miss Tahlia Malfoy pressed her lips to his cheek and wrap her arms around him. Émile put his arms around her for a brief moment to humor her before dropping them to his sides again. "Tahlia! Summer was summer... you can get details later if you like... I could show you what I learned," he winked, letting her know that he was joking. Émile knew about Tahlia's virgin status, and he knew that she was saving... for who, he didn't know. But he didn't mind at all. "And as always... my mother gets the best of me. Lisette is such a whiny..." Émile scowled. Tahlia knew. Of course Tahlia knew.

Being full of excitment Tahlia felt like jumping off the walks. She was being reunited with her best friend. How could her world get any better? Thoughts and plans coarsed through her memories. As she stood there memories of last year played on her mind and she grinned at the look on Lisette's face when Tahlia had grabbed Scorpius' arm when they boarded the train and when they reached King's Cross she stayed close to her brother and Scorpius hadn't paid much attention to Lisette for Tahlia was telling him some stories about what she had learned.
Laughing lightly she grinned. Tahlia enjoyed making Lisette's life a living hell. Yes. Lisette knew how much Tahlia wished she could get rid of Lisette and take her place next to her brother and Albus and Lisette took advantage of her time with them against Tahlia. Swallowing hard she stood there and breathed deeply. The plans and layouts they could dream of this year would be great for this year Tahlia was a prefect. An advantage over Lisette who did hold this information yet. As she looked at her dear friend she would always find him attractive which was why she'd always go to him when she needed some loving.
Knowing he didn't particularly like the hugs she dropped her arms soon after he did. When he spoke she giggled and rolled her eyes setting a bit of a blush. "What a lovely idea, Li. Sounds like a date."she said winking playfully at him. Emilie didn't know who she was saving herself for and knew he didn't mind not knowing. She couldn't tell him it was her brother but she would tell him it was Albus if he ever wanted to know.
Standing with him she rolled her eyes in disbelief. Lisette was such a... "One of these days I'm going to visit and get your mother to fall absolutly in love with me. Then everything will change for you. I can't wait for the day when Lisette is stripped of her name and ability to get people to do what she wants."she told him and took in a deep breath. The fact that Lisette was an idiot and a Slytherin and a Zabini gave all of the above a bad name. Sighing she looked at him, "Maybe if I put something in her night cream. That pretty little face wont be so pretty...."she said more to herself then to Li.

As much as Émile liked to torture his baby sister, he thought a lot of what he and Tahlia did was a bit juvenile. Especially now that he was a seventh year, and he really needed to grow up. He had nothing about his life planned out... he was just going with the flow. Émile really didn't know how he felt about Tahlia... well... he knew that any feelings that he may have harbored for her would be of no use, since she had a crush on Albus... or so he thought. So, out of the question. Émile ran a hand through his short black hair and smiled, pushing any thought of the sort out of his mind. Girls were overrated anyway... especially his sister. Internally he felt the same way about Lisette that Tahlia did... being an airhead brought disgrace to the Zabini name, and being both an airhead and a Zabini just made it worse for the Slytherin house in general. Of course... being that she was even the slightest bit veela... boys from other houses didn't notice how stupid she could be at times. It really irked Émile.
"What a lovely idea, Li. Sounds like a date."
Émile smirked a bit when Tahlia winked. So playful... too bad it was all a facade.
"One of these days I'm going to visit and get your mother to fall absolutely in love with me. Then everything will change for you. I can't wait for the day when Lisette is stripped of her name and ability to get people to do what she wants."
Émile nodded ever so slightly. He didn't believe that there was any way that his mother would turn against Lisette. She was the last remnant of veela history in the family, and Gabrielle just... absolutely adored her. "Unfortunately, being part veela... I don't think that she'll ever lose the ability to get people to do what she wants," Émile stated blandly. Émile also did not at all know what Tahlia was getting at by saying she'd get his mother to fall in love with her... they were just friends, so that really wouldn't matter, would it? As much as his father would enjoy a Malfoy hanging around... Émile doubted wholeheartedly that his mother would. She was quite peculiar and hard to peg into a certain group...
Émile heard Tahlia mutter something about night cream and a pretty face. He raised an eyebrow. He was hoping that Tahlia wouldn't resort to something as minor and boring as that... besides, with the veela genes, it was pretty much impossible to break out from anything. Perfect skin, perfect hair, perfect nails. Oh, Émile knew all about that. But of course, he wouldn't say anything to Tahlia. If she wanted to do such things, at least he wouldn't have anything to do with it.

Looking down Tahlia smiled softly at her best friend. He was the one person that knew that true her. Tahlia was a jealous girl though when it came to Émile. Blinking she bit her lip lightly and took in a deep breath. It was weird as she stood there looking at him. For some reason she suddenly felt young and naive in front of Émile and she stared blankly at the ground. Swallowing she saw his smirked and blinked at him. The smirk made her like him in the beginning and even to this day it caused her to feel butterflies. Licking her lips she sighed softly and then looked up at him and nodded.
"Right. I forgot. Sorry...."she said softly as she stood there. Sometimes she did wish they were more then friends again and looked down then back up at him. "Why'd we break up again?"she asked softly looking at him curiously. Breathing in she stood there being confused by the memory that seemed to have faded.
Tahlia knew she was young and naive but he helped keep that fire inside her alive as a Malfoy. Being the only Malfoy that wasn't neutral was hard sometimes and she wished she could do something about it. Even her best friend was neutral. Slytherins use to be dedicated to the Death Eaters. When did the Slytherin house grow so soft? After the fall of Voldemort? That shouldn't matter. Some of the most famous dark wizards and witches came from Slytherin. Sighing softly she blinked and stared blankly at the ground. How was she suppose to survive in this house if everyone she knew was neutral? Looking up at her best friend she took in a deep breath and bit her lip.
My world is seriously messed up! I need some extreme help. She thought to herself and looked at her best friend and sighed. "I am starting to believe I am going crazy, Émile. Is something wrong with me?"she said looking at him with worry set in her eyes and wishing she could figure out this world on insanity she calls life.

Émile really did wonder sometimes. He wondered what would happen if he and Tahlia hadn't broken up. Hell, he didn't even remember if what they had together was actually dating. For all he knew, that could have been a facade, too. Émile also wondered how she felt... well, about the age gap. It was all fine and such for friends to be two years apart, but she was his sister's age, and was that really appropriate? Émile didn't know, and nor did he really care, just, the thought struck him and now it was on his mind, now that he was seeing Tahlia again after a long summer. She really was a beautiful girl, and had the bloodline to match. And she was smart. Definitely unlike his dope of a sister. But of course... he shouldn't be thinking things like that. No, he really needed to stop thinking things like that.
"Right. I forgot. Sorry.... Why'd we break up again?"
Émile chuckled a little. He wondered the exact same thing. "You know, I don't even remember. It was probably incredibly trivial... Considering neither of us seem to remember why," he said, a small smirk appearing on his lips. No, not one little reminder of why they... oh. It was probably because of Albus. Émile hadn't ever been told that Tahlia liked Albus... but there were signs. It was rather obvious... but Émile never bothered to ask. It just didn't seem important. They were friends, and that was that. That was just how it had always been. Émile looked at Tahlia and noticed that she was biting her lip. He raised an eyebrow.
"I am starting to believe I am going crazy, Émile. Is something wrong with me?"
Émile would admit that he was a little confused. Crazy? No, he didn't think that Tahlia was crazy. He didn't think she was crazy at all. She was the same old Tahlia he'd always known. "What's wrong, doll?" he asked, truly concerned and of course, simply curious. But he'd always be there for Tahlia, so long as she needed him of course. He had a life to live, too. But he would always want her in it, some how. Not that Émile was a total creeper or anything, he just... enjoyed her company.

Sighing softly the fifteen year old girl stood there as the curious thoughts rolled across her mind. Thinking back now they had 'dated' a little at the end of her first year and a little into her second year but after that she couldn't remember what had happened but she remembered that after her first real kiss with Scorpius that Émile had been her second, third, and so on until she couldn't remember. She wasn't sure if Émile remembered it that way but that's how Tahlia remembered it. Smiling lightly she remembered he had been the first person she snogged with in her whole life. She knew he could claim that. Sometimes if she was deep in thought about Émile, she wished he had been her first kiss and wondered what it would have been like but their first kiss had magic in it too at least to her.
Looking up at him she heard him chuckle and tilted her head being confused then the realization hit her. He must have been thinking the same thing. Hearing the words flow out of his mouth she looked down and thought for a moment then closed her eyes as the answer came to her in a flash. His name was Albus. They just stopped dating because she had a huge crush on Albus. Licking her now dry lips she covered her face a little then smiled at him. He always seemed to read her mind for she knew that he most likely knew this too. It was scary how well he knew her. Glancing away she began thinking of what it would have been like if she hadn't crushed on Albus that much and stayed with Émile.
Shaking her head she looked up to see the confusion on his face and looked down. Maybe he did think she was crazy. Her shoulders slumped lightly and she moved quickly to sit on a bench that was next to her and she then heard his question and looked up at him and sighed as sadness filled her eyes. "So many things are wrong, Li. I mean....am I foolish to stick to the dark side and don't you ever wonder what it would have been like if we never stopped dating? I mean....where would we be today? So many questions and yet I still find myself feeling like I am insane or something. It all seems quite unfair."she spoke softly knowing he could hear her. Part of her wished he enjoyed hugs so he would hold her close and comfort her. She always found his body rather....amazingly toned and perfect.
Shaking the thoughts from her head she knew she had to remain focused on this topic because if she lost track of herself then she might do something to Li that she might regret...oh who cares. Tahlia never regretted anything she has done with Li although most of it was just kissing and maybe some touching here and there but that was it. Everything had been with clothes on. Tahlia quickly pushed the dirty thoughts out of her head and rested her hand on her head hoping it'd push them out but with him so close it was hard not to have those dirty thoughts about him. Two years apart? Did it matter to him because right now she could have cared less? He was her best friend and the guy she went to for everything. Age was but a number in the language of love wasn't it?

Notes: Haha...wow I know that last part was completely random. I guess I've been staring at Taylor's body far too long. I'm starting to have dirty thoughts about him and it's pouring into Tahlia's mind as well. Lol. Sorry.

Émile sighed and looked around the area. There weren't many students around which was a shock considering the time of day. Usually there were students roaming about looking for food... and they'd have to go through where he and Tahlia were to get to the food. But... it was rather empty and open. Just like Émile's life, not to be cliché or anything. Just... it sort of worked as a metaphor... and it was true, to say the least. The only people in his life were his small group of friends, his sister (unfortunately), his parents, and of course, Tahlia. He'd been friends with her since third year... when she was just a little first year. He'd known her a long time, and honestly, it didn't matter to him that they were only friends. They shared a sort of connection... that only true friends can share. Although... once she graduated... and made her alliances... who knows where they'd end up...
When Tahlia bit her lip, Émile asked her what was wrong. She looked confused... and a bit... lost.
"So many things are wrong, Li. I mean....am I foolish to stick to the dark side and don't you ever wonder what it would have been like if we never stopped dating? I mean....where would we be today? So many questions and yet I still find myself feeling like I am insane or something. It all seems quite unfair."
Tahlia wasn't insane. Émile didn't find her insane at all... in fact... thinking about and realizing all of these things now was probably a good thing for her... considering that she was young still... and a change in everything could be made. But... a change between them? Was that even possible? Not likely, he chuckled to himself, considering how close she seems to be with Albus and her brother. Émile personally did not get along with the two of them as well as he could have because of his sister. He was able to tolerate her... but only in small increments. "I think that it's good you're thinking about things now, and not later, like after you graduate. It's harder to make a change if need be then." Émile forced a small smile. He tried to help, but he wasn't always the best at helping others. "And as for us? I think about it... sometimes. No one usually stays together for more than a year around her anyway, doll..." Émile shrugged. He figured he wasn't helping at all by saying those things. "But..." he paused a moment, "that doesn't mean I don't think about it..."

Her world seemed to be spiraling out of control before her eyes. Realizations popping up here and there and she just sat there sighing. She knew there was not chance she and Li would ever get back together because of one their friends and two the crushes she had. Biting the corner of her mouth she sat there and covered her face. She was fifteen. She still had her whole life ahead of her. She shouldn't be making these life changing descisions now. She was still very young.
The world seemed to be on her shoulders suddenly. She didn't like it. Looking at the ground through her fingers she breathed deeply. Unbelievable how her best friend graduating has made her realize so many things in her life. As she sat there she sighed softly and blinked uncovering her eyes. What was she gonna do now? She had two years left of school and she had no idea what she would do after that. Looking at Li she swallowed hard. What did he plan on doing after graduation?
Looking at him her world was crashing down into millions upon millions of pieces. Li kept her sane. When he left she wouldn't have a best friend. She'd be alone. Lisette would finally win because Tahlia knew she wouldn't be able to win her brother and Albus of because she wouldn't have Emile with her any more. Hearing him speak she looked up and shrugged at the statement. She probably would never know what to do or where to go in life. When he spoke about them and their relationship she looked down and side softly. He was right. It was like a curse of Hogwarts romances. Never laster more then a year. Doll? Did he just call her doll?
Looking up she saw him smile but knew it had been forced. Seeing him shrug she looked down again then he spoke once more which caused her to look up at him and he paused.Hearing the last part she looked down with a small smile. "I think about it sometimes when I'm with you or when I'm alone. I miss the way it use to be. Life seemed so much simpler then it is now."she said softly as she played with the hem of her skirt. Breathing lightly she begam to fidget.
"I was happier then. Now that your graduating at the end of the year I'm afraid I'll be losing the only friend I really truely ever had. And also my..."she said then turned her head lightly away from him and swallowed hard. "My first true love...."she whispered softly not knowing if he heard her or if she had infact sad it to herself. At the moment she didn't care if he had heard her. Maybe it would be better if he had heard her. It would make this so much easier then it was. Tahlia sat the clenching her fist lightly and closing her eyes.
